Common Core Standards
Grade 6
Reading RI.6.10
By the end of the year, read and comprehend literary nonfiction in the grades 6-8 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range.
The standard and its Reading: Literature counterpart are so similar that we'd swear they were twins, even though they're not quite. Still, what we say about that standard can be applied to this one, so we're going to direct you to our description for that one. Just replace anything related to literature with non-fiction as you read.
