You're going to see a lot of "This standard is identical to its Literature counterpart," and that's because the same rules for literature apply to nonfiction texts for your first graders.

First graders should be identifying the main ideas and reasons an author gives, doing a bit of compare and contrast between similar texts, and expanding their vocabulary with a diverse reading repertoire.
