Stress
Podiatrists are definitely not footloose, and any profession in the medical world is going to carry with it some degree of stress because of the importance of the decisions you're making. However, unless you're the staff podiatrist in a larger emergency room or an on-call surgeon during a foot-injury epidemic, you'll have a lower degree of stress than many other specialists.
Most podiatrists are able to keep regular office hours which, although they can average fifty or more a week, don't necessarily involve 4:00AM telephone calls.
