Nnu Ego's chi, the slave woman

Though Nnu Ego's chi (personal god) is her guide in life, she isn't a kind one. In fact, her maliciousness can be seen by the way she makes Nnu Ego suffer after fulfilling her greatest desire – having children. First the chi withholds children from Nnu Ego until Nnu Ego is driven to attempt suicide. Then she floods Nnu Ego with children, so many children that she can't take care of them properly. Yet Nnu Ego continues to pray to her chi, and continues to believe that her chi was merciful to her by giving her so many children.
