How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Fight Club.
Quote #1
NARRATOR: With insomnia nothing's real. […] Everything's a copy of a copy of a copy.
What happens when you make multiple copies? Things start to get weird. They get blurry and off-center, and they're nothing like the original. That's what's happening to the narrator's world here, and notice how he's already hallucinating. Tyler Durden blinks into existence near the copy machine for a split second and disappears as he says this.
Quote #2
NARRATOR: I nod off. I wake up in strange places, and I have no idea how I got there.
No, this isn't normal. It's almost like he could be doing other things while he's asleep and completely forgetting about them…
Quote #3
NARRATOR: When you have insomnia you're never really asleep and you're never really awake.
Fight Club is basically one big sleepwalking movie. Or maybe a warning against the dangers of Ambien.
