- At work, Jack sits bleeding and smoking at his computer. He composes haiku and e-mails them.
- His boss tells him to go home and pull himself together, and Jack stomps back home to the Paper Street house. Wasn't his insurance supposed to cover his apartment by now?
- At the house, Tyler and Marla are still going at it day and night.
- The phone rings. Oh, it's a detective investigating the condo explosion. He suspects arson.
- Jack says he's shocked, but he sounds strangely calm about the whole thing.
- Tyler enters the kitchen and coaches Jack on what to say to the detective. "That was not just a bunch of stuff that got destroyed. It was me."
- He hangs up, and Marla comes into the kitchen wearing an old bridesmaid's dress. Jack notes that he never sees Tyler and Marla in the same room at the same time.
- She leaves, Tyler enters, and tells Jack to get rid of her.
- Marla comes back with her coat. She calls Jack a nutcase and leaves. Well that was easy.
- Tyler comes in as soon as Marla leaves. He says they're going to make soap tonight. Oh, that sounds clean and fun!
