Figure Analysis
Isaiah doesn't have as much to say in this book as he does in his own, poetic, amazing, and super-long Book of Isaiah. But he plays a really crucial role. (His name means, "The Lord is Salvation.") He's the big prophet in town during King Hezekiah's reign, and he helps Hezekiah make the right moves when Assyria invades, relaying crucial messages from God. He also intercedes for Hezekiah with God, helping him add another fifteen years onto his life when he seems near death.
