Recognize and name all upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet.

Students who can't tell 'A's from 'B's probably aren't getting either. Recognizing letters is an essential part of reading, pronouncing, and understanding words. And remembering which big letter goes with each small letter—on top of when we should use each—is a foundational step to master before moving on to other intricacies of reading.
