20-Year Prospect
History can be a great predictor of the future. The progression of technology over the last twenty years is nothing short of mind-blowing. Not too long ago, it would've taken a room full of computers to do what your pocket-sized smartphone will easily do now (it would've been impossible, for example, to take a selfie with a room-sized computer).
In other words, telecommunications techs will be needed for the next twenty years, squared. Okay, we can't promise that squared part. But you get the point.
Our society is hugely dependent on technology. And, in the grand scheme of things, it seems likely that humanity's love affair with technology is just getting started. That's good news for you techie-types. Rest assured, the future promises to require telecommunications techs with greater, ahem, frequency.
