You're in the business of persuasion, so any power you exert will likely come in this form. Convincing a prospect to go with your company, convincing an existing client to select a particular line of coverage, convincing a belligerent client not to file a lawsuit against you. If you're knowledgeable about your field and a skilled communicator, you can have a ton of influence over those you deal with on a daily basis. You just can't make lightning shoot out of your wrists. It's about time you accepted it.
