Physical Danger

Care for some soup? (Source)

Sure, that molten glass looks like honey, but it totally isn't. Trust us—we won't be making that mistake.

Again.

Glassblowers wear their safety goggles and gloves for good reasons. First, they spend basically all day using sharp tools like blowpipes to joust with melt-your-face-off-hot liquid glass all day. "Oops, I burned myself" doesn't mean running your finger under cold water for a minute; it means second-degree burns, blisters, skin charring, and a visit to the emergency room.

Second, fumes from asbestos tape and dirty glass make breathing in air from a forest fire seem tame by comparison. If you don't take precautions now, when you're in your sixties it'll be time to break out that respirator.
