Glass-prenticeship. Salary: $17,000 

You saw a video on blowing glass on YouTube and thought that it looked kind of fun. You finally landed an apprenticeship and get to work with glass on the regular. However, it pays almost nothing so you pay the bills by making overpriced lattes. This seemed a whole lot more fun online.

After an opportunity you couldn't pass up came your way (more cash), you've gone corporate. You spend nine hours a day shaping tubes and other items that'll be used in neon displays and light shows. It's tedious work, but you tell yourself the pretty colors that'll be seen will totally be worth it.

Through the looking glass. Salary: $45,000 

You work in the Northeast as a dedicated artist helping other glassblowers work on their craft. Several of your students tell you what a big influence you've been to them. You try to hide your tears of joy, but everything around is see-through.

Glassmaster pro. Salary: $80,000 

After designing the world's largest blown glass sculpture, you're the biggest name in the business. Some of the richest and most powerful people across the world are your clients. You're even contracted with Apple to design their new stores; apparently the old ones didn't have enough glass.
