Fame
Let's be blunt for just a moment: There are no famous bookkeepers. At least, none who are famous for the right reasons. If you take the, ahem, "extra-legal" route, finding a way to hide money behind the smoke and mirrors of cooked books, you could certainly see your name splashed across newspaper front pages and news channel tickers. But we definitely don't recommend it. We counsel sternly against it, in fact. Overall, your time as a bookkeeper will go largely unnoticed beyond your company or clients.
However, you can take solace that your work will be very highly appreciated, as you're the key to a business' economic stability. Your name might only ring out in the hallways of your office, but it'll be the sweet sound of relief that carries the tune—the bosses' relief that the books are in order and the employees' relief that their paychecks will arrive as expected. It's a rather...subtle fame, but you shouldn't be expecting this career to bring worldwide recognition.
