When sweet Mrs. Geisel, a child she bore. As Teddy got older, his mom taught him rhyming

And pacing and meter -- it was all in the timing.

It was there that his birth name got much, much less use...

...when he chose to replace it with the moniker "Seuss."

00:42

In the ad game and filmmaking, Seuss was a dabbler

00:45

He was always verbose; you could call him a babbler.

00:51

He tried his hand at political cartooning And slowly but surely his career was ballooning

00:58

To Think That I Saw it On Mulberry Street Was the first ever book that Seuss did complete

01:04

He wasn't a hit right off of the bat But things got much better with The Cat in

01:09

the Hat. From that point on, he found fame and renown

01:14

He was hands-down the rhymiest rhymer in town. Random House owned him from that day on

01:21

And they still sell his books now that Teddy is gone.
