If one more data value of 55 is added to the
- 00:07
below data set, which values will change?
- 00:12
And here are the potential answers...
- 00:16
OK so what is this question asking?

- 00:18
Well, if we solved the previous problem, we know that the mean
- 00:22
of the original data set is 54...
- 00:25
...and the median and mode are both 55.
- 00:28
Okay, so the new 55 is going to stir the pot a bit.
- 00:31
But before we spend a ton of time doing a bunch more math, let's look at this logically.
- 00:35
Our median, the middle number... won't change.
- 00:38
55 was our median before, and since we're adding another one... it'll still be 55.
- 00:43
Same thing with mode. We already had more 55's than any other number... so adding
- 00:48
one more to the mix certainly won't change things.
- 00:51
Our mean was 54 in the last problem... by adding a 55, our mean is destined to go up
- 00:56
slightly...
- 00:58
So our answer is A.
- 00:59
As in, "All wet."
