Eddie Carbone

There's no doubting that Eddie is the main character. He causes everything to happen. His stubborn refusal to release Catherine is the engine that drives the play. It's his meaningless self-destructive death that we end on. This is his tragedy, folks. A View from the Bridge proves that protagonists don't have to be good guys.
