Doc

Doc is a good old guy who teaches Peekay how to be an outsider, since he's a German living in South Africa. He also teaches Peekay all about nature and science, how to play the piano, and most importantly, how to think. Doc is the most important figure in Peekay's life, and even after he dies Peekay goes to his grave for guidance.

Geel Piet

Geel Piet is a mentor for Peekay in the boxing arena. He's the real genius of the prison boxing team, and his one-on-one training for Peekay lays the groundwork for Peekay's crazy awesome undefeated run later on in life.
