It's just one sentence—27 words—and it was enacted more than 200 years ago, so you'd think we might have it figured out by now. No such luck. Instead, the Second Amendment has been the subject of debate for almost as long as it has existed. 

Way back in 1837, Georgia passed a handgun ban that was ruled unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court. And since the 1960s, the debate over exactly what the Second Amendment says has been steadily gaining steam... with no real resolution.
