Character Role Analysis
Lucy and Susan
The two Pevensie sisters, Lucy and Susan, spend a lot of time together with Aslan in this book. Although they both develop a special connection to the great Lion, they also have very different personalities – Lucy is brave and adventurous, while Susan is more timid and conservative.
Peter and Edmund
The two Pevensie brothers are even more strongly contrasted than the sisters. Peter is brave, upright, honest, and virtuous from the start, while Edmund is nasty and treacherous. Yet, in the end, Edmund becomes wiser and graver than his brother.
Lucy and Edmund
The two younger Pevensies, Lucy and Edmund, are the first to enter Narnia. Their actions decide the course of events for the children, as Edmund allies himself with the White Witch and Lucy develops a friendship with the good Faun, Mr. Tumnus.
