The title is really part of the poem. Without the title, it would be impossible to know where the poem takes place. The title contains a reference to a symbol of modern technology, the metro. On the other hand, we don’t find this reference anywhere else in the poem. In this way, technology is "excluded" from the vision of the poem itself.
