Penny Press, Penny Paper, Penny Papers
This label was applied to the newspapers which first appeared in the 1830. New technologies allowed or the production of an inexpensive paper (one penny as opposed to six cents) aimed at a more inclusive urban audience.Partisan Press, Partisan Paper, Partisan Papers
This refers to the political papers, primarily of the late-18th and early-19th centuries that were affiliated to a particular political party. They weren't objective in their news coverage; instead, they provided unbalanced reporting in order to advance a particular candidate or political position.
