Here's the hard part:
Your class just read a short story about three dudes in a bar in which basically nothing happens. Some of them may be asking, "What's the big deal?" or "Is that it?" It's true that there's no real resolution to the story. The old man and the younger waiter just go home. But if the students focus only on plot, they've missed about seven-eighths of the story.
