Provide a sense of closure.
Have you ever read a book that just sort of…stops? There's no closure, no sense of finality—you just turn the page and BAM: done. Okay, those books are still good, but let's teach the less heartbreaking method to begin with. A sense of closure is very important for a healthy author-reader relationship, and third grade isn't too early to learn the value of it.
