There's nothing wrong with a little context, people. With this substandard, your students will continue to build their word analysis skills, using in-text evidence to accurately understand a word based solely on its context. An important part of this substandard is letting your students fail initially if need be, as re-reading a text to gain further understanding is a key aspect of this substandard.
