The Standard

Use verbs to convey a sense of past, present, and future (e.g., Yesterday I walked home; Today I walk home; Tomorrow I will walk home).

That's right. First graders should be able to differentiate between the past, present, and future with their verbs. They should be able to demonstrate this skill in writing and in oral activities, too.
