20-Year Prospect
Since launching its own network in 2014, World Wrestling Entertainment has more than 1.3 million subscribers, a.k.a. people are willing to pay $9.99 per month in a world where illegal downloading reigns supreme. In other words, WWE is doing just fine for itself.
So long as people continue to glue their butts to their sofas and train their eyeballs on a screen, WWE is gonna be a thing. For the WWE, twenty years is no sweat.
Not that you'll make it that long in this career anyway. Unless you're the Undertaker—and chances are very good that you're not—a twenty-year career as a WWE wrestler is a pipe dream. Your body simply will not be able to handle the stress, and some fresh new face will catch the WWE's eye. Then before you know it, you'll be back to watching from the stands. Them's the breaks, Shmooper.
If you manage to have a successful WWE career, even a short one, that's a major achievement in and of itself. Be proud of that, but be sure you have a backup career plan. We guarantee you'll need it after being dropped from the top of the cage a couple times.
Since you'll know what WWE is like, you can work for the organization in some other capacity, like a referee, trainer, or a booker.
