Power

Woodworkers are more at the mercy of others than in a position of power. Whether controlling the computers or handcrafting fine pieces of their own, most woodworkers are creating objects to satisfy either a business or individual customer. This means one rule of power automatically comes into effect: The customer is always right.

If something doesn't satisfy the customer, the woodworker can bet they'll be putting their own time and money back into the project until the customer is satisfied. There's no question about who holds the power in that scenario.

So that may not seem too powerful, but have you ever seen a woodworker in action? Maybe they're not wielding control when it comes to people, but think about the kind of control they have over their material. Woodworkers have an incredibly unique influence over the wood they touch. In their hands, a piece of wood can become anything, from a piece of furniture to a musical instrument. Essentially, the fate of that wood is determined by their skill and creative vision. Pretty cool, right?
