Glory
It doesn't get much nobler than this, folks. Just take the motto of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA): "making effective communication, a human right, accessible and achievable for all." Kinda makes your heart grow three sizes, don't it? Or at least, you’ll get a lump in your throat. Metaphorically speaking.
You can achieve renown through recognition by a state or national professional organization. ASHA and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation (or ASHFoundation for short…you’re keeping these names straight, right?) recognize exceptional work in both health and school industries, and reward research and graduate work as well. And don’t forget the National Student Speech-Hearing Association (NSSLHA), which also celebrates the best and the brightest. Are you sick of acronyms yet?
