Glory
Any time a production brings an audience to laughter, or to tears, or simply envelops them in a story and makes them forget they aren't watching reality for a few moments, you'll have had a hand in making that happen. That's pretty awesome. Unless you're doing lighting for a reality television show—and in that case you should find a new gig if you're looking for glory.
And if you have a less-than-glorious career in the film biz, you can always fall back on lighting community theatre productions or at the Sears photo studio. Just don't tell all the families how you used to do lighting for Steven Spielberg. No humblebragging allowed.
