This is where your career can get a bit tricky.

When you agree to take on a case, it doesn't really matter whether or not your client is in the wrong. It's your job to simply represent every client to the best of your abilities. That being said, you may find yourself in some moral quandaries from time to time. How much you like your job can really depend on how easily you can leave your own personal beliefs out of the job process. Or, in other words: is the huge amount of money your services command enough for you to cross into the moral gray-area?

If you want to feel genuinely good about being an IP lawyer, you'll have to be very selective about the clients you take on, sometimes opting to represent smaller companies or lesser-known artists. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, but to feel okay about it, you'll have to pick the right dog.
