Odds of Hanging On
Once you get this job, there's very little reason you'll lose it. There's no union but you do get excellent benefits (dental, vision, medical, paid holidays, and sick leave, you name it). And the average age of a bailiff is thirty-eight years old, so there's no pressure to be a super hip and flashy young bailiff. If you stay physically fit enough to club a rogue defendant and mentally alert enough to ask everyone in the courtroom to "RIIISE!" at the right time, then you won't find yourself replaced anytime soon.
