Power

When you're a nanny, it's easy to think you're top dog. You spend your days surrounded by small humans who need you to change their underpants for them, drive them places, and cut their food up into bite-size pieces.

But look at you. In comparison, you're a champion. You eat solid food like bulgur and kale. You always make it to the potty in time. (Except that one time, but you were laughing really hard, so it doesn't count.) And you can use the swing all by yourself, thank you very much.

But before the power goes to your head, remember who's paying you. Yup, parents. Did you ever, while growing up, think to yourself, "I can't wait to move out of this house?" Well, get ready to start saying that again.

Being a nanny means yet again putting yourself under the auspices of parents. While living in their house and taking care of their children, you're going to have to follow their rules. So if you couldn't stand the arbitrary rules and the constant surveillance ("Where are you going, young lady?"), you might not like going through that whole thing again.
