The Road Not Taken a la Shmoop.

00:02

I'm always second guessing my choices.

00:05

I almost called this poem "The Road Taken."

00:08

Then I started obsessing over all the other titles I could have picked.

00:12

Would I regret not going with something grittier like "That one time I wore new

00:16

shoes on a walk and got really bad blisters" I guess the grass is always

00:20

greener on the other path.

00:22

Or is it brownish yellowish Argh this is so hard My worst case of indecision

00:27

happened when I was going for a walk in a forest and I came to

00:31

a fork in the road.

00:33

I stepped over it and there were two pathways in front of me.

00:37

My GPS didn't work way out here in the boonies so I didn't have any

00:42

guidance to tell me which route to take.

00:44

Candidate A was a fine looking specimen with appealing scenery and no visible predators.

00:49

Candidate B looked pretty great too and it seemed wilder and overgrown like it hadnt

00:53

been landscaped for a while.

00:55

But now that I looked closer Road A also seemed to be untamed by the

00:59

sneakers of man.

01:01

Or at least I couldnt see too many Cheetos wrappers on the ground.

01:05

I decided to settle this in a mature reasonable manner.

01:09

I could always come back another time and take Road A.

01:12

Anytime I wanted to.

01:14

Although I wasnt really doing much walking now that I had my Fat-burnatron 2000.

01:18

and the forecast was calling for rain and my fantasy football league was in full swing.

01:23

So I didnt really have time for another relationship.

01:26

And it's not like I was going to hurt the roads feelings or anything Oh well.

01:30

What's done is done.

01:32

And this road is great We've had some really good times together.

01:36

But I can't help thinking about that other road.

01:39

I know someday I'll be sitting in my armchair boring my kids with What Ifs

01:44

What if I had taken that first road Maybe I would have discovered a doorway

01:48

to another dimension or a new species of feral guinea pig I guess I'll never NOTE end of file
