For a good time, solve this shmoopy question...

00:05

What is the slope of a line with the equation 4x plus 2y equals 12?

00:12

And here are your options...

00:16

Okay, when in doubt put the equation into the standard point slope form of a line

00:21

We want the Y over here and the left in the

00:25

X over here on the right. So we can rewrite the equation

00:29

as 2y equals -4x

00:32

plus 12. We just subtracted 4x from both sides

00:37

Now we need Y, not 2y, on the left dividing both sides by two

00:42

and we have Y equals -2x plus six

00:46

so the slope here is M which is...yeah negative 2 and the answer is A.
