Exactly how steamy is this story?

A View from the Bridge gets an R rating mostly for implied sexual desire, but what's implied is for mature audiences only. You've got incest, rape, and impotence hiding out just beneath the character's words and symbolic actions. The closest we get to actual sex is some pre-coital embracing and some (possible) post-coital adjusting of clothes. All the action happens offstage, and to tell you the truth, it's not clear how far the characters went. Who knows? It's offstage. Then there's the double kiss, where Eddie forces his lips on both his niece and her boyfriend. Of course, this could be interpreted as being more about power than sex.
