Character Analysis
Tom Morgan is chatting with Black Dog at the Spy-Glass pub when Jim first sees him. Jim believes at first that Tom Morgan isn't aware of Black Dog's piratical roots, but Tom Morgan, of course, is also a pirate. When Jim appears in the enemy camp at the end of the novel, Tom Morgan tries to kill him for ruining all of the pirates' plans. He's only stopped by his fear of Long John Silver. Tom Morgan is also one of the three remaining pirates marooned on the island in the end – a hard fate, we have to admit.
