How It All Goes Down
The Preparations
- Goldman steps back in and tells us that he didn't even know Chapter 4 existed until he read The Princess Bride for himself. Turns out that his dad wasn't all too keen on this chapter because it's just a big long description of what happens in the next three years leading up to Buttercup and Humperdinck's marriage. There's also seventy-two pages describing how Humperdinck trains Buttercup to be a princess. Talk about a snooze fest. Let's be thankful Goldman has cut all of it out of his version.
