of decimal places. We at Shmoop don't always preach conformity, but in
this case it's a must:
0.500 + 0.940 + 0.032
Now, we line them up at the decimal point and add:
0.500 0.940 + 0.032 = 1.472

What is 0.223 – 0.101?
These decimals already have the same number of decimal places. Bless
their hearts. We just line them up at the decimal point and subtract:
0.223 – 0.101 = 0.122
