Tough-O-Meter

We've got your back. With the Tough-O-Meter, you'll know whether to bring extra layers or Swiss army knives as you summit the literary mountain. (10 = Toughest)

(7) Tree Line

We're going to level with you: Gulliver's Travels is fairly tough. The language is old-fashioned and difficult to follow. The satires are often pretty obscure, and deal with historical situations we don't discuss very often in school (or at least, we didn't get into the War of the Spanish Succession so much; maybe that was just us?). But there's a lot to lighten the load of this book: the dirty jokes and physical comedy still make us laugh three hundred years later.
