Pip

Pip is us, we are Pip, and we are all together. (But hopefully none of us is a walrus.) He's our main man, the person we love most, the person we identify with. He's also the person narrating our story. We don't always agree with his choices and his actions, but we have access to his every thought and his every emotion. Because of this, we can totally relate to Pip and to his dreams, goals, and fears.
