Elmo Patrick Sonnier Timeline and Summary

Pat was born in 1950; his brother Eddie was born a year later.
In 1977, the brothers murder David LeBlanc and rape and murder Loretta Ann Bourque. Before these acts, they had kidnapped and abused a number of other couples.
The brothers were sentenced to death in 1978. Eddie's sentence was later changed to life imprisonment.
In 1982, Pat begins corresponding with Sister Helen Prejean, who becomes his spiritual advisor.
Prejean tries to get Pat's sentence commuted—but without success. He is executed by electric chair on April 5, 1984.
