Exactly how steamy is this story?
R for sex, sex, and more sex
You would think that a book about Christianity would err on the chaste side, but the Confessions manages to be pretty darn sexy. That's because Augustine's favorite sins are those of the flesh, and he's the first to admit it. From a young age, he loves to do the nasty. Like, a lot. In fact, one of the biggest reasons why Augustine delays saving his soul for all eternity is because he is not okay with "just saying no" to sex. Oh, and Book X.30 is all about wet dreams, which achieves new levels of "What did I just read?!" So, while this book is all about forsaking your sins in order to lead a life of devotion, it really drags us through the sexy mud before showing us the Christian way to live.
