How to Save Money
You're barely scraping by as is—how are you supposed to find money to save?
Sure, you could find random money on the street or do some illegal stuff (don't do that), but there are other ways that don't involve luck or ending up in prison.
Here are a few tips to help you save:
- Keep a spending record and make a budget so you can see where you spend your money and change things up a bit.
- Pick up some odd jobs. Pro tip: old people hate mowing their own lawns and doing their own shoveling.
- Decide ahead of time how much you want to save each month, and put that money into a savings account before you pay for anything else. That way, you're not tempted to spend it.
- Sell a few things you no longer need and put the money you get into savings.
- Tell yourself that any money you receive as a gift (for your birthday, Christmas, whatever), will go directly into savings.
