Zero-lot-line houses are houses that are living on the edge. No, really. They’re properties where houses (or townhomes, apartments, or whatever you want to call your designated residential building) are built riiiiiight up on the edge of the property line. They might even be attached buildings, like in many residential areas of San Francisco. And San Francisco ain’t cheap.
Zero-lot-line houses can be useful for low-income families and areas, highly populated urban areas, and for people who hate yard work. In general, because the space is used as efficiently as possible by making the most of a property space, it helps lower costs, giving more people more access to an area.
